Büyükelçinin Mesajı

Distinguished Turkish Citizens and Libyan Friends of Turkey,

I began my duties as the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the State of Libya on March 03, 2021, in Tripoli.

Upon the nomination by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the approval of the President of the Republic of Turkey, I am proud to represent Turkey in the brotherly and friendly country of Libya.

Libya, which has been and still one of the most important centres in the Mediterranean basin, North and Sub-Saharan Africa, is a neighbour, a friend and a relative of our country, with which we have shared a common history that extends to 500 years. The security and stability of Libya are directly connected to the security and stability of Turkey, as well as the Mediterranean, Africa and Europe.

Turkey, which attaches utmost importance to the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and political unity of Libya, is continuing its firm support for the Libyan-led and Libyan-owned steps that were taken to bring lasting peace to Libya, and for the efforts of the Libyan people aspiring to reach for a long time the peace and prosperity.

With your support, we will strongly and tirelessly work at the Embassy in Tripoli and the General Consulate in Misurata to strengthen the bilateral relations between Turkey and Libya.

While we confirm that the doors of our diplomatic representations will always be wide open to you, I convey my respect and affection, and best wishes for myself and on behalf of all our staff.

Kenan Yılmaz

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Libya
